CNC CUT ROTATIONAL MOLD
FOR AN AIRFLOW MANAGEMENT PRODUCT
A customer had an
idea... They
wished to make a serviceability improvement to an airflow management
component. We saw an opportunity to do more... The project intent
and end goals were reviewed and an airflow analysis was recommended
and facilitated by our engineers to yield the
best possible airflow in the available space utilizing alternative
manufacturing methods. New component drawings were completed
to include marketing renderings for the customer's presentations.
After approval of the
new design a rotational mold was produced and manufacturing was
underway. The result of D8's innovative project management was
a new part design that
surpassed all the project goals and allowed the component to
be manufactured at less than half the cost of the existing method.

CURRENT OPENINGSMachinist
Sets up and operates
CNC machining centers to fabricate aluminum parts, applying knowledge
of machine shop theory and procedures, shop mathematics, machinability
of materials, and layout techniques. CAD/CAM and CNC experience
required, experience with SolidWorks and/or SurfCAM preferred.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and excellent
work history/references. Positions available on first and second
shifts.
Fits and assembles castings
and machined parts using hand-tools and power tools. Verifies
dimensions and alignment of assembly, using measuring instruments,
such as tapes and calipers. Foundry, woodworking, and/or metalworking
experience is preferred.
